Sketching Along we go

Well My silence for a while wasn't there without a reason, I was travelling abroad for around 3 weeks each on a different location! however since I got back I was sketching whenever I could, usually that happens to be using an ink pen on my notebooks at desk during lunch, I'm still playing around a lot of the design and story line, it's trying to juggle my focus that worries me that if I get too stuck on one end I won't be able to see the big picture.

What you are seeing is the most earliest phases of an idea forming and I do tons of those sketches before I am satisfied with where I'm heading, meanwhile I'm also trying to learn and practice blocking on my game design so I could dig in studying the flow of the game, they are still in the insanely early stages there are a lot of things that could change

Shall we play a game?

For the past few years I dabbled on the thought of making a small game as a new platform of story telling because I always wanted people to explore the worlds I created a bit more in depth, it doesn't have to be very deep though but there is always that nagging feeling whenever I see a movie or comic for wanting to see more of that certain world.
Early this year I got more excited to the idea and bought a software that is somewhat more user friendly and played around with the mechanics and got more excited for trying to give it a go so my aim around this month ,or coming few months depending on how far I can go, is to create a very short story platformer that consists of only one level of gameplay with a boss but will be improvising along the way, because whenever I start planning on something the idea expands a lot in scope and the more I spent on researching about it I tend to overthink and the project will always be placed in the back of my mind never finishing a product,
so I want to approach this project in small steps and by means of semi-improvisation (I have a general idea but the details will come during the process).
So I started with a quick sketch on how the intro might play out and last night was toying on how the sprite sheet of my main character will look like during the gameplay.

A New Character Has Entered The Stage!

Welcome to my blog!

Well It's about dam time, I always kept my sketches and musings to myself, and barely showed it to the public out there.
It's a bad habit, so I decided to post my latest image, it started off as a basic human skin shading practice, but it kept evolving and modified the hell out of it countless of times. I still see many modifications worth pursuing but chose to stop there, I want to move on to other works.

Sometimes I will post some of my old ones, I'm just a bit lazy to scan them right now, but some of them are worth pursuing again even if they were sketches.

Thoughts and impressions are very welcome, hope you'll enjoy this journey of mine.

Cheers,
